I like this privacy policy.

This policy is forward thinking.  The author's first language is not English, and it's well written. The photo is clearly located in Chengdu and the author has conscientiously informed me about the risk in clicking on it, and even viewing it.  WAY 2 GO!  I chose not to download the crying baby image, although it did get me to read the policy.

I mention what I read because, at EnterpriseGRC Solutions, we are not interested in having our readers profiled, we are not using Adsense or any third party that requires putting a tracking cookie on the end user client.  We do integrate with Facebook, Skype and Twitter, but when you use those applications, it is based on your own account, not an account created with us.

Log Files

[Here's the part I love. Everyone should be adding this!]

Like many other Web sites, [removed site name] makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol ( IP ) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider ( ISP ), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

[Perhaps we should add that it is possible to recognize the likely identity of a user, although that specific relationship would not be stored.  Many companies create a tracking database that does know the associated person.  That is a common marketing practice.]

Cookies and Web Beacons
